January 27th, 2009 | Published in Palestine-Israel and the Middle East
A secular Jew (and eco-socialist), Joel Kovel is a great American thinker and author of many books. Once a practicing psychiatrist and psychoanalyst, Kovel is now a Professor of Social Studies at Bard College in NY. Kovel’s 2007 book, “Overcoming Zionism”, was briefly banned due to its critique of Israel. In late 2008 Joel Kovel visited the Twin Cities and spoke about “Overcoming Zionism” and the struggle to get these ideas out to the U.S. public. Includes Q and A.
